LOW CALORIES SWEETENERS USED IN THE INDUSTRIALIZED ICE CREAMS

Sweeteners are substances used to replace sugar in many foods and beverages to offer people the options of products with reduced, low, or zero addition of sugar. The use of these additives in industrialized ice creams is regulate by the RDC no. 18, from March 24th, 2008.

SWEETENERS are not generally used by all the companies. It is proven in the sample of Industrialized ICE CREAMS, in which the mos commonly SWEETENERS observed are:

  • ACESULFAME-K: used in 3 products
  • ASPARTAME: used in 2 products
  • SUCRALOSE: used in 12 products
  • SORBITOL: used in 12 products
  • MALTITOL: used in 5 products
