In the non-alcoholic beverages and food industry, specifically, the reduction of the use of water has been receiving special attention in sustainability policies.
In addition to the reduction of water in their plants, industries have made efforts to stimulate the reduction in the production chains and the regions where they operate, for example, in preserving water springs.
Despite Brazil seems to be in a privileged position in relation to the rest of the world, for having a wide quantity of renewable water resources, the water efficient use is a problem hat has generated public policies and initiatives from the production sector and society to reduce losses and be more efficient in water use, in order to ensure the supply of this resource essential to the health and quality of life for future generations. In the food and beverage sector, that is a theme of great relevance, considering that, in determined business segments, water is intensively used.
